The District Public Relations Officer is the nodal officer responsible for implementing the objectives of the Department of Information and Public Relations at the district level.
The DPRO serves as a vital link between the Government, the media, and the public by disseminating authentic, accurate, and timely information on Government policies, welfare schemes, developmental programmes, and the activities of the District Administration.
The DPRO’s office prepares and issues press releases, coordinates press conferences and media briefings, organizes official publicity campaigns, manages Government advertisements in accordance with prescribed guidelines, provides photographic and videographic coverage of official events, and maintains effective liaison with print and electronic media.
The office also conducts public awareness campaigns through exhibitions, Kala Jatha programmes performed by Telangana Samskrutika Sarathi (TSS) artists, and other Information, Education and Communication activities to effectively disseminate Government messages among the public.
The DPRO’s office monitors media coverage, compiles press clippings, and submits media feedback and analytical reports to the District Administration and the Government.
It coordinates media accreditation activities, facilitates effective communication between the Government and the media, and maintains close liaison with various Government departments. The office also provides publicity and media coordination for the visits and programmes of VIPs and VVIPs, official meetings, elections, emergency situations, and other significant Government events.
Through these functions, the DPRO’s office promotes transparency, strengthens public outreach, and enhances public awareness of Government initiatives and developmental programmes at the district level.
