Role
The District Employment Exchange Office acts as a bridge between employers and job seekers by facilitating recruitment, improving employability of youth and ensuring availability of skilled manpower for industries. The office contributes towards Ease of Doing Business by assisting industries in meeting their workforce requirements in a timely and transparent manner.
Major Activities
• Registration of unemployed youth and maintenance of employment database through online services. So far, we have 12,164 registered unemployed database
• Collection and dissemination of employment opportunities received from industries, private establishments and other employers.
• Organizing Job Melas and placement drives in coordination with industries, educational institutions and skill development agencies. Every month we conduct 2 Jobmelas with atleast 2 employers on board. On an Average we have given placements of 50 per job mela
• Career counselling and guidance programmes for students and unemployed youth. We
conduct 2 Career guidance programme every month.
• Facilitating employer registration and vacancy notification through the National Career Service (NCS) Portal.
• Coordination with ITIs, Polytechnics, Degree Colleges, Engineering Colleges and training institutions to improve employability and placement opportunities.
• Assisting industries in sourcing suitable candidates as per their manpower requirements.
• Industrial visits to know the trends of employment. We do 6 industrial visits in a month 4 by the Junior Employment Officer and 2 by the District Employment Officer
Contribution towards Ease of Doing Business
The department supports industrial development by ensuring that investors and industries have access to a skilled and readily available workforce. Recruitment assistance is provided through the Employment Exchange and National Career Service Portal, thereby reducing the time and effort required by industries for manpower mobilisation.
The department also works in close coordination with the District Industries Centre, industries and educational institutions to improve employment opportunities for local youth and to promote industry-academia linkage.
Future Action Plan
The department proposes to:
• Strengthen coordination with industries for regular recruitment drives.
• Organise sector-specific Job Melas based on local industrial demand.
• Enhance employer participation on the National Career Service Portal.
• Improve career counselling and employability services through the Model Career Centre.
• Promote local employment generation by connecting skilled youth with industries established in Sangareddy District.
